Eager to explore the revised route of this year’s 10th Brait Grace to Grace, the field of keen mountain bike riders set off to an early start in the Magaliesburg. The colorful stampede raced off into the distance to begin the first of the 42km ahead, leaving only a cloud of dust to settle on a perfect African morning.
Not too long after the dust had settled the first men’s team arrived home, having completed this 42km race in just under 2 hours (1:52:01) with the first Adcorp team (Adcorp Jets - Steve Chemaly and Ernie Alexander) crossing the finish in 02:33:24.
Another milestone for the team this year, saw Shaun McCormack, Andy Fenn and George Bennet successfully complete their 10th Brait Grace to Grace. Despite a couple of punctures and an encounter with mother earth, all six of the Adcorp teams finished in good spirits.
Once all the cyclists had completed the race and enjoyed a well deserved ice cold beer sponsored by SAB miller, they were joined by their families, friends and colleagues on the magnificent lawns of the Mount Grace where a scrumptious lunch was served and super day was enjoyed by all.
